The San Mateo Countywide Transportation Plan (CTP) is a long-range planning effort led by the City/County Association of Governments of San Mateo County (C/CAG) and the San Mateo County Transportation Authority (SMCTA). The purpose is to guide transportation planning and investments through 2050.
The CTP brings together existing transportation plans, studies, and policies across San Mateo County into one countywide vision. The plan helps identify where improvements are most needed and considers all types of travelers: people who walk, bike, roll, take transit, and drive.
The CTP is being developed with input from local communities, agencies, and organizations, building on past engagement and offering new opportunities to ensure the CTP reflects real needs and lived experiences.
While the CTP does not build projects directly, it sets the roadmap that guides what gets planned, funded, and constructed in the years ahead.
